Exclusive Invitation for Supporters

Saturday, March 29th, 2008

On the 3rd of April the first seats, corporate boxes, and lounges for the new stadium go on sale at the Town Hall. This is an exclusive offering to the Our Statium Supporters club, Dunedin Club, and Chamber of Commerce members. This will be an excellent event for those wishing to get a good deal on the first offering of stadium products. I am currently working with Darren Burden on providing a package for Alumni of Otago University whereby they could get preferential booking rights to lounge and corporate seats for all the big events.

Bear Baiting

Bear Baiting

The Otago University put on an excellent night of entertainment on Wednesday with their first Bear Baiting competition. Barry Colman was on his fine “Dragons Den” form for the event laying into the competitors with some tricky questions. All competitors had great, creative ideas which made for entertaining pitches. As the idea alone was being judged there was no requirement for long boring financials. Damian Newell, the MC for the competition, did a brilliant job of running the event and controlling the Bears (”Be nice!”). Congratulations to Christine Grove of Supportit who who the $5,000 of UPSTART mentoring.

Antis not convinced

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

Todays Otago Daily Times unofficial poll of public opinion about the councils decision of support was again dominated by the noisy minority. I personally think that the negative people that calls these polls are the ones with no jobs at home with nothing else to do. It took us (the supportive) a prompting to actually make the call to show our support. The one thing that I was extremely encouraged about though was that, more than often, negative journalist David Loughrey wrote a surprisingly positive article EVEN THOUGH THE POLL WENT AGAINST US!

New Storage Facility

Thursday, March 20th, 2008

EZY-STOR Self Storage has today just opened its fourth storage facility in Dunedin. The new facility in St. Albans Street, Kaikorai Valley has 58 garages 29 - 3×3’s and 29 - 6×3’s. The demand for storage in Dunedin continues to grow as new facilities quickly fill requiring another to be built. We are currently working on our 5th mega facility now which could double our size and provide EZY-STOR Self Storage with a range of smaller size units located in the center of town.

Big Night Night

Check this new Queenstown Night life experience out! What a great night was had! The night consisted of visiting 5 bars, receiving a free shot at each, while being escorted by a great team of fun, energetic, gougeous staff (and a couple of blokes). Go check out their web site and book a spot on their next tour. This is a great way of experiencing Queenstowns night life in a safe controlled environment.

University Rugby Club launch website

Monday, March 17th, 2008

This years rugby registration has gone very smoothly thanks to our new web site www.ourclub.co.nz. Players fill out their details on line where once selected into a team their NZRFU forms are printed out ready to be signed. This system will be the first in NZ which saves the players having to fill out multiple forms for player selection, club registration, and NZRFU requirements. This also allows teams, players families, coaches, etc to be group emailed with updates, and other announcements of team and club events.

Its great to see former Otago MBA student Graeme Hart shoot up 135 places this year to be ranked 201 on Forbes world rich list. Although it has been 20 years now his class picture still hangs on the wall. This year is the 32 year of the Otago MBA

April Regional Meeting

Sunday, March 16th, 2008

Christchurch will be hosting the South Island Regional SSAA meeting on the 8th. I think these are great events to listen to speakers from within the storage industry share updates and advice on new policies and procedures. This meeting will be held over dinner at the Holiday Inn City Centre, Cnr. Cashel & High Street from 6:30pm onwards.
